Founded the same year Marty McFly went back to the future, Merton Social Football Club have been thrilling supporters with their unique brand of entertaining, one-touch football for decades. With three teams in The Kingston and District Football League, an exciting season is ahead for The Social.
Originally, 'The Mighty Soash' were established by employees of the London Borough of Merton Council and, while the council presence has faded over the years, players from all over the world have joined the team in a bid to make MSFC a global brand.
Despite a wealth of talent and commitment, Merton Social FC have won little honours in their long and illustrious history, however that trend is being reversed with the last two seasons providing silverware. Most Notable a KDFL League Cup victory in 2015/16.
8 years ago, Merton expanded to 2 Teams in the KDFL, 3 years back MSFC expanded to 3 teams and this year we now have four competitive teams for the first time in the clubs history! Each team has recruited some top talent and are looking at the title in their respective divisions.
The club has a long touring tradition, having played in Dublin, Amsterdam, Antwerp, Barcelona, Lisbon, Prague, Budapest, Madrid, Brussels, Berlin, Rome, Seville, Nice, Valencia and most recently Rome. The tour takes place in May each year and all players are encouraged to travel.
