A Game of Two Halves, still.

The Thirds made the daunting trip to the home of last year's league winners, Lower Green, for the second round of the Teck Cup. After a decent start to the season, a cup upset was very much on the cards and the Soche came flying out the traps in an open start to the game which saw both sides create a flurry of early opportunities.

The Soche were playing the much better football of the two sides and created chances for both Bingham and Billy but neither could break the deadlock. TK laid another chance on a silver platter for the goal-shy winger but Bingham's effort could only be rebounded into the path of Billy who remained composed to slot in the opener. Scorer soon turned provider as Billy played in TK who took advantage of some lacklustre goalkeeping to double the Soche's lead going into half-time.

The Soche started the second half brightly in search of the much needed third goal to put the game to bed. After cutting in from the line he loves so much, East Dulwich roadman Daniel Fletcher played a sumptuous through ball into TK's path but his effort cannoned back off the bar and flew towards to midrift of Billy, who after much deliberation decided that stooping down to head the ball against the post from a yard out was a better option than "shagging it in".

Nerves crept into the Soche's performance as the clocked ticked on and they failed to see the game out, conceding three sloppy goals where indecision in our own penalty area gave Lower Green chances that they capitalised on with decent finishing.

A lesson learned from this game was to keep attacking to see the game out rather than sitting back but it was a much improved performance on last season's games against Lower Green. Plenty of positives to take, especially from the football played in the first half to take as we concentrate on the league.
