Team of the Week: 24th September

Ethon - Couple of match winning saves towards the end of the game when Frenches were pushing for an equaliser
Paul Whittingham - Debut to remember for Whit, who was towering at the back and equally towering up front as he steered home the deciding goal from a corner.
Alex Hall - Brilliant, versatile performance from Merton's robust defender
Aron - Brilliant display from Jackson. The opposition Number 6 has applied for residency outside of Aron's pocket. Still pending.
Ian Taylor - Called in the score in Morty's absence
Tindall - MOM performance at RB for 3's. Strong second half in particular, first to everything and not one foul throw.
Ed Mac - Had to suppress his usual roving instincts in a disciplined MOM display. Superb in helping to deliver the clean sheet and therefore the 3 points.
Sam - slotted back in to the 3's midfield as though he'd never been away, broke up the play time and time again and got his first shot off for the club.
Elwell – Scored a pen
Oly - took a bit of a battering in midfield, but gave as good as he got and worked tirelessly alongside Sam in midfield.
TK - opened his account for the season from the spot and could have had a couple of assists from set-pieces had Leach Snr. stayed onside!
